There are those people that buy cars, there are those people that buy motorcycles and there are those people that buying boats. My cousin beats them all: he just bought an airplane.
There are two possible reasons why he did it:
- He told us that he wanted to be able to take the family for a coffee 400 Km away with no problem. - His wife told him he could never afford one. He is extremely stubborn and doesn't take No for an answer.
However I have to admit that the way he did it was really original.
He found out that each year a great number of airplanes get seized by the government. These seized airplanes are then auctioned and, as the competition is low, they get sold for a very low price. So, low that you can actually resell them immediately for three times their original price.
He then found out a site that runs on-line auctions for seized airplanes and for a really small fee they let you bid and get the aircraft. Once you win the bid, you have several days to accept the result. You can then keep the aircraft.
This approach can actually save you from any type of problems that are usually found in auctions plus the fact that it is the only way to review great number of planes from the ease of your bedroom.
